
10 Things to Know - Memphis
Arkansas jumps back into non-conference play with a road trip to take on undefeated Memphis. The first meeting between the Razorbacks and Tigers since 1998 is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, from Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium on ABC.
1 – Since 1995, Arkansas is a perfect 6-0 in games played in Memphis, Tenn., including a win against Memphis in 1998. In the Sam Pittman era, the Razorbacks are 2-0 in games played in Memphis, with both of those victories coming in the Liberty Bowl in 2022 and 2024.
2 – QB Taylen Green has inserted himself into early Heisman Trophy conversations through the season’s first three games. The Hogs’ dual-threat quarterback has completed 63-for-92 (68.5%) passes for 866 yards and nation-leading 11 touchdowns while also rushing for a team-high 307 yards and two touchdowns. Green became the first player in program history to pass for 300-plus yards and rush for 100-plus yards in a game in Arkansas’ SEC opener at Ole Miss, completing 22-of-35 passes for 305 yards and a touchdown through the air while rushing 14 times for 115 yards and a score.
3 – WR O’Mega Blake has led Arkansas in receptions and receiving yards in all three games this season. Blake is the first Arkansas player to lead the team in catches and receiving yards in each of the first three games of a season since Anthony Eubanks who led the Hogs in both categories in the first nine games of the 1996 season.
4 – Arkansas allowed zero sacks in consecutive games against Arkansas State (Sept. 6) and Ole Miss (Sept. 13), the first time the Razorbacks accomplished the feat since 2021 against Texas and Georgia Southern.
5 – RB Mike Washington Jr. logged his sixth career multi-rushing touchdown game in Arkansas’ SEC opener at Ole Miss, rushing for 65 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries (5.0 ypc). In three games, the New Mexico State transfer is averaging 86.7 rushing yards per game and has run for 260 yards and a team-high three scores on 31 carries (8.4 ypc).
6 – Under head coach Sam Pittman, the Hogs are 24-16 when gaining 400-plus yards of total offense in a game and are 21-9 when rushing for 200-plus yards in a game. Arkansas has gained 400+ total yards of offense in 40 of 64 games and rushed for 200-plus yards in 30 of 64 games.
7 – WR O’Mega Blake has caught a touchdown in three consecutive games to begin the 2025 season. He is the first Razorback to accomplish that feat since WR Matt Landers did it in the final four games of 2022.
8 – The Razorbacks’ 199 consecutive extra-points made streak, which began on Dec. 5, 2020, is the second-longest such streak nationally based on date, behind Northwestern (Oct. 24, 2020). Freshman kicker Scott Starzyk has made all 20 of his point-after attempts this season.
9 – Under the guidance of offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino, Arkansas is tied for the national lead in scrimmage plays of 10+ yards with 66. The Hogs also rank among the national leaders in 20+ yard plays (T-3, 24) and 30+ yard plays (3rd, 12).
10 – QB Taylen Green has kept defenses on edge this season with both his arm and his legs. The Lewisville, Texas product ranks among the national leaders in long passing plays of 10+ yards (T-6th, 14), 20+ yards (T-8th, 14), and 30+ yards (T-11th, 6th). On the ground, Green’s 15 rushes of 10+ yards are the most by a quarterback nationally and the second most among FBS players. Additionally, he is tied for fifth in rushes of 20+ yards with four and tied for ninth in rushes of 30+ yards with two.
