10 Things To Know – Texas
Arkansas, led by interim head coach Bobby Petrino, travels to longtime Southwest Conference rival Texas this weekend. Kickoff between the Razorbacks and Longhorns inside Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium is slated for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22. The game will be televised nationally on ABC.
1 – QB Taylen Green has completed 182-of-293 (62.1%) passes for 2,537 yards and 19 touchdowns while also rushing for 719 yards and seven touchdowns on 124 carries (5.8 ypc) through 10 games this season. The Razorbacks’ dual-threat quarterback ranks second nationally in yards of total offense (3,254) and is third in yards of total offense per game (325.4).
2 – DL Quincy Rhodes Jr. leads the Razorbacks in both tackles for loss (15.0) and sacks (8.0) through 10 games this season. The North Little Rock native ranks second in the SEC and is tied for sixth nationally in tackles for loss. His 15.0 tackles for loss are the most by an Arkansas defender in a season since DL Trey Flowers (15.5) in 2015. With two more sacks, Rhodes Jr. would become the first Razorback with double-digit sacks in a season since DL Jake Bequette (10.0) in 2011.
3 – Saturday will mark the first meeting between the Hogs and Horns in Austin since 2008. It will also be the first conference matchup between the programs in Austin since 1990, when the teams were in the Southwest Conference.
4 – QB Taylen Green ranks 10th nationally in career touchdown responsibility at Arkansas with 49 touchdowns (15 rushing, 34 passing). He is one shy of tying QB Quinn Grovey (1987-1990) in ninth at 50 and two shy of moving into a tie for seventh alongside QB Casey Dick (2005-2008) and RB Darren McFadden (2005-2007). Additionally, Green ranks ninth in single-season touchdown responsibility with 26 (seven rushing, 19 passing) this season.
5 – WR Raylen Sharpe has caught a pass in 39 consecutive games dating back to his 2022 campaign at Missouri State. Sharpe’s 39-game reception streak is tied for the second-longest nationally, trailing only Bowling Green’s Jyrin Johnson (43 games), while being tied with Missouri’s Kevin Coleman Jr.
6 – This season, Arkansas has posted five games of 500 or more yards of total offense. Since Bobby Petrino returned to lead the offense, the Hogs have registered nine games of 500 or more yards of total offense.
7 – LB Xavian Sorey Jr. is coming off a seven-tackle performance at LSU on Nov. 15, which featured a career-high 2.5 tackles for loss, eclipsing his previous career-high of two, set on four occasions. Sorey leads Arkansas with 71 total tackles this season while posting seven tackles for loss, including 2.5 sacks, an interception, three pass breakups, three quarterback hurries, and a forced fumble.
8 – The Razorbacks’ 221 consecutive extra-points made streak, which began on Dec. 5, 2020, is the second-longest such streak nationally based on date, behind Northwestern (Oct. 24, 2020).
9 – Arkansas is tied for fifth nationally in touchdown percentage inside the red zone, scoring a touchdown 78.1% (32-of-41) of the time when inside the red zone.
10 – RB Mike Washington Jr., the Hogs’ primary ball carrier, has rushed for a team-leading and single-season career-high 913 yards and seven touchdowns on 140 carries (team-high 6.5 ypc) through 10 games. The New Mexico State transfer, who has logged four 100-yard rushing games as well as one multi-rushing touchdown performance this season, is vying to become the first Arkansas player to eclipse the 1,000-yard rushing mark on the ground since 2022, when Raheim “Rocket” Sanders rushed for 1,443 yards on 222 carries.
