Arkansas, led by interim head coach Bobby Petrino, returns to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium for an SEC showdown against fourth-ranked Texas A&M. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
1 – WR Raylen Sharpe has caught at least one pass in 35 consecutive games dating back to Sept. 24, 2022, while at Missouri State. His 35-game reception streak is tied for the fourth-longest mark nationally. Sharpe led Arkansas with a season-high seven catches for 76 yards during last week’s loss at No. 12 Tennessee.
2 – QB Taylen Green (7.10, 7th) and RB Mike Washington Jr. (6.55, 16th) are the only pair of teammates to rank in the top 20 nationally in average yards per carry. Additionally, Green is one of just three quarterbacks in the top 30, joining Colton Joseph of Old Dominion (7.55, 5th) and Navy’s Blake Horvath (6.53, 18th).
3 – LB Stephen Dix Jr. led Arkansas with a season-high 11 tackles, including one tackle for loss in last week’s matchup at No. 12 Tennessee. It marked the second game Dix had led the Razorbacks in tackles this season. He previously accomplished the feat in a loss at Ole Miss on Sept. 13. It was also his fourth career double-digit tackle game and his third as a Razorback.
4 – Saturday’s meeting between the Razorbacks and the Aggies will be the first in Fayetteville since Sept. 28, 2013, after having played 10 of the last 11 meetings at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The lone meeting during that timespan, not in Arlington, was in 2020 when the teams met in College Station due to COVID-19. The matchup will be the 82nd meeting between the programs, with Arkansas holding a 42-36-3 lead in the all-time series.
5 – RB Mike Washington Jr. eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark for the fifth time in his career and second time since joining the Razorbacks with a season-high 131 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries in last week’s game at Tennessee. The New Mexico State transfer leads Arkansas with 524 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 80 carries this season. His 104.83 all-purpose yards per game rank sixth among all SEC players.
6 – Bobby Petrino won all three of his matchups against Texas A&M during his first stint as the Razorbacks’ head coach by the scores of 47-19 (2009), 24-17 (2010) and 42-38 (2011).
7 – Through six games, QB Taylen Green leads the country in both yards of total offense (2,158) and yards of total offense per game (359.7). Green also ranks in the top 20 nationally in passing touchdowns (14, 12th) and passing yards (1,654, 17th).
8 – The Razorbacks’ 208 consecutive extra-points made streak, which began on Dec. 5, 2020, is the second-longest such streak nationally based on date, behind Northwestern (Oct. 24, 2020). Freshman kicker Scott Starzyk has made all 29 of his point-after attempts this season.
9 – Arkansas ranks 12th nationally and fourth in the SEC with 154 first downs offensively this season. Additionally, Arkansas is converting on 57.1 percent of third downs, which is the third-best mark among FBS programs.
10 – DB Kani Walker leads the SEC and ranks 14th nationally in passes defended per game with 1.20 a contest.
