5,000m victory earns Paityn Noe SEC Runner of the Week honor

FAYETTEVILLE – Razorback sophomore Paityn Noe earned SEC Runner of the Week accolade following her victory in the 5,000m at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Stanford, California.

Noe improved her outdoor career best by six seconds with a 15:28.04 win over teammate Sydney Thorvaldson (15:33.35). It was the top collegiate time in the 5,000m this past week and improved Noe’s position at No. 4 on the UA all-time list. Noe’s previous outdoor best was 15:34.39 set in 2024.

Thorvaldson holds the Arkansas school record in the 5,000m with a 15:25.07 set in 2024 while Dominique Scott (15:25.10) and Lauren Gregory (15:25.17) rank No. 2 and No. 3 on the UA all-time list.

Previously this season Noe moved to No. 2 on the UA 10,000m list with a 31:59.22. Indoors, Noe broke Arkansas school records in both the 3,000m (8:47.17) and 5,000m (15:11.27).

Also racing over 5,000m at the Payton Jordan Invitational were Razorbacks Olivia Pielemeier (16:09.71 PR) and Bradley Weimer (16:36.84). Pielemeier finished ninth in the section 1 race with Noe and Thorvaldson, while Weimer placed second during her outdoor debut in the event racing in section 2.
