All I want for the holidays....

Christmas at our household is a very big deal. The whole process usually starts the day after Thanksgiving. Usually my family and I will spend the day putting up the Christmas trees (there are two) and the rest of the day decorating the house. This is usually done to Christmas music playing in the background. Since I will not be at home for that part, which is okay because it can be a little daunting, my parents and my brother will have to start without me.

Once I get home for Christmas I plan on spending a lot of time with my family since I do not get to see them very often. We will probably watch a lot of Christmas movies which is usually the tradition and do a lot of shopping at the mall for last minute gifts. I will probably do any decorating that has not been finished yet and any Christmas projects my mom has planned. What I am looking forward to the most, however, is Christmas Eve. The night before Christmas, my family will gather in the kitchen and make desserts, usually fudge or some sort of Christmas cookies. We usually do this with Christmas music playing in the background and the fire going, even if it is not quite cold enough to have a fire. Living in Texas s we usually have to pretend it is snowing outside, but it is usually just cold enough to feel like Christmas. Once we finish the desserts, we will watch a Christmas movie, either “It’s A Wonderful Life” or “White Christmas,” I’m really not sure why, but it’s been our tradition since I can remember. Of course Christmas Day will be celebrated with the traditional festivities and exchanging of gifts, but for me this Christmas, spending time with my family will truly be what I look forward to.

As for the rest of Christmas break, it will be spent playing golf, spending time with friends I haven’t seen in a while, and of course spending time with my family.

Woo Pig!!!
