Arkansas Heads to the East Coast for Maryland Invite

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas volleyball team is looking to build onto its four wins this weekend, as the Razorbacks head to the east coast and will face the University of Maryland, Princeton and George Mason at the Maryland Invite.

Arkansas moved back into the win column on Tuesday night after a 3-1 win over in-state opponent, UAPB. Three Hogs finished with double-doubles for the third time this season. Four different Razorbacks have recorded double-doubles this season and Arkansas stands as the only SEC team with four players that have recorded multiple double-doubles so far this season, no other team has more than two.

Freshman Jillian Gillen is still leading the Hog offense with 3.96 kills per set. Her performances against Montana State and San Diego State earlier this season are ranked second and third in the SEC for kills in a single match with 26 and 28 respectively.

On the defensive side of the net, sophomore Ellease Crumpton is averaging 1.30 blocks per game after a career high nine total blocks against UAPB. Three different Razorbacks have accumulated 50+ digs this season, Gillen (58), Gracie Ryan (54), and Rachel Rippee (53).
