Arkansas wins 4 x 400m relay, finishes fourth at NCAA Indoor
FAYETTEVILLE – Finishing off the NCAA Indoor Championships in front of 3,584 fans at Randal Tyson Track Center on Saturday, the Razorbacks won the 4 x 400m relay in a world-leading time of 3 minutes, 23.63 seconds and Arkansas placed fourth in team scoring with 37 points.
Earlier in the meet a silver and bronze finish in the 800m contributed 14 points from Sanu Jallow-Lockhart and Analisse Batista as the posted times of 2:00.54 and 2:00.57, respectively, behind the winning time of 2:00.01 by Clemson’s Gladys Chepngetich.
Seven points were scored in the 400m by the combo of Sanaria Butler (50.94) and Kaylyn Brown (51.40) as the placed fourth and seventh.
Brown ran the lead-off leg of the 4 x 400m relay with a 52.09 split. Jallow-Lockhart followed with a 50.72 and Batista supplied a 50.51 third leg. Leading at the exchange for the anchor leg, Butler cruised to a 50.31 split as the Razorbacks set a facility record.
Georgia placed second in 3:24.48 with South Carolina third in 3:26.44.
Arkansas bettered the facility record of 3:25.59 set by a Razorback squad in 2024. In addition to being the world leading time for 2026, Arkansas registered the No. 2 performance all-time behind its collegiate record of 3:21.75 set in 2023.
It’s also the No. 3 performance on the world all-time list behind the 2023 Arkansas mark and a 3:23.37 by Russia in 2006.
