Arkansas seeded 7th at NCAA

FAYETTEVILLE – No. 9 Arkansas is the seventh seed in next week’s NCAA Gymnastics Championship in Gainesville, Fla.

The Razorbacks finished second in last week’s NCAA West Regional at UCLA to advance to the NCAA Championship for the fourth time in the program’s eight years, the fourth time in five years and for the third consecutive season.

Seeding is based on a national qualifying score, which is a combination of each team’s regional qualifying score and the score from the NCAA regional meet.

Arkansas scored a 196.675 at the NCAA West Regional, which is a school record for a regional, and has an RQS of 196.510 for a national qualifying score of 393.185.

No. 3 UCLA is seeded No. 1 with a 394.885, followed by No. 4 Florida with a 394.725, No. 1 Alabama 394.650, No. 2 Oklahoma 394.420, No. 10 Utah 393.385, No. 6 Stanford 393.375, No. 9 Arkansas 393.185, No. 8 Oregon State 392.820, No. 11 LSU 392.815, No. 15 Missouri 392.585, No. 6 Michigan 392.400 and No. 12 Nebraska 392.230.

The two semifinal sessions are on Thursday, April 22. The first session is at noon and includes Oklahoma, UCLA, Oregon State, Utah, LSU and Nebraska.

Arkansas competes in the second session at 6 p.m. (central) along with Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Stanford and Missouri.

The top three teams from each semifinal advance to Friday’s Super Six, which begins at 6 p.m. The individual event finals are scheduled for Saturday, which also begins at 6 p.m.
