Ball, Green, Sorey Jr. Set To Join Pittman At SEC Media Days
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Talking Season kicks off for the Southeastern Conference on July 14 at SEC Media Days in Atlanta, with the Arkansas Razorbacks taking their turn on Thursday, July 17, with defensive lineman Cam Ball, quarterback Taylen Green and linebacker Xavian Sorey Jr. accompanying sixth-year head coach Sam Pittman.

Ball is one of the most experienced players on the Razorbacks’ roster, with 39 games played and 20 starts during his collegiate career. He started all 13 games as a redshirt junior in 2024 while registering a career-high 47 tackles, including four for loss and 1.5 sacks. The Atlanta product also tallied two quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery. He registered five tackles and a quarterback hurry during the Hogs’ Liberty Bowl win over Texas Tech (Dec. 27) and a career-high seven tackles, including one for loss in the regular-season finale at Missouri (Nov. 30). Ball also played a significant role in the Razorbacks’ 58-25 win at Mississippi State (Oct. 26) with a fumble recovery, three total tackles and an assisted sack.
Green looks to build upon an impressive 2024 campaign that saw him accumulate 3,756 (602 rushing, 3,154 passing, 23 TD) yards of total offense, good for second-most in a single season in program history behind only Ryan Mallett’s school-record mark of 3,795 while recording just the seventh 3,000-yard passing season in program history. He finished the 2024 season ranked 13th nationally in total offense per game (288.9), 14th nationally in passing yards per completion (13.71) and 21st nationally in total passing yards (3,154). The Lewisville, Texas, product was named Liberty Bowl MVP after completing 11-21 passes for Arkansas bowl record 341 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown in a 39-26 win over Texas Tech while becoming the first Arkansas passer to eclipse the 300-yard mark in a bowl game since 2016. Green threw for over 300 yards in three games during the 2024 season, highlighted by a career-high 416 yards at Oklahoma State on Sept. 7.
Sorey Jr. was among the league’s best linebackers in 2024. During his first season as a Hog, he started all 13 games and led the team with 99 total tackles (40 solos, 59 assists) while tying for the team lead in tackles for loss with 9.5 in addition to registering two sacks, an interception, a pass breakup and three quarterback hurries. He ranked sixth in the SEC in tackles per game with 7.6 and led Arkansas in tackles during five of the Razorbacks’ 13 games.
For Pittman, it will be his fifth appearance at SEC Media Days after the event was canceled due to the pandemic prior to his first season. He enters his sixth season as the Head Coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks and is coming off his third straight bowl victory, making him the only Arkansas coach in program history to win each of his first three bowl games. Pittman’s sixth season atop the program matches the tenure of Ken Hatfield as only five coaches have served longer as the Head Hog over the program’s 131 seasons.
Arkansas kicks off the 2025 season on Saturday, Aug. 30, when they welcome Alabama A&M to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium for a 3:15 p.m. matchup on SEC Network.
