Ball Named Jason Witten Collegiate Man of The Year Award Semifinalist

DALLAS – Arkansas defensive lineman Cam Ball has been named a semifinalist for the 2025 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award, Jason Witten’s SCORE Foundation announced on Tuesday.

Ball was one of 20 FBS players named as semifinalists for the award and one of six players representing the Southeastern Conference to be selected.

The award, presented by Albertsons and Tom Thumb, is the first college football honor to focus primarily on a player’s leadership, both on and off the field. Leadership is a term synonymous with Jason Witten, who, in addition to becoming one of the best tight ends in the history of the sport, served as one of football’s most prominent role models during his 16-year pro career. In addition to winning the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award in 2012, Witten also received the Bart Starr Award, Pro Football Weekly’s Humanitarian of the Year Award, Home Depot NFL Neighborhood MVP and the Bob Lilly Award, among many others. All of those honors have recognized his work in the community, achievements on the field, and dedication to his teammates and family.

Ball is one of the nation’s most active players in the community, having been involved in over 120 community service events during his time on The Hill. In addition to founding his own non-profit and organizing a teddy bear drive for local children’s hospitals, he has worked with schools and the homeless community, as well as hosted a youth football camp.

The Atlanta, Ga., native is one of the most experienced players on the Razorbacks’ roster, with 45 games played and 26 starts during his collegiate career. This season, the redshirt senior has tallied 11 tackles, including 1.5 for loss with a career-high four quarterback hurries. He started all 13 games as a redshirt junior in 2024 while registering a career-high 47 tackles, including four for loss and 1.5 sacks. Ball also tallied two quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery. He registered five tackles and a quarterback hurry during the Hogs’ Liberty Bowl win over Texas Tech (Dec. 27) and a career-high seven tackles, including one for loss, in the regular-season finale at Missouri (Nov. 30).

Three finalists will be named for the award on Monday, December 15. The winner will be announced at the award ceremony at The Star in Frisco, Texas, on April 16, 2026.

Arkansas begins a three-game homestand at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium with a matchup against longtime Southwest Conference rival Texas A&M this weekend. Kickoff between the Razorbacks and fourth-ranked Aggies is 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, on ESPN.
