Ball Named to Jason Witten Collegiate Man of The Year Award Watch List
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas defensive lineman Cameron Ball has been named to the watch list for the 2025 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award, Jason Witten’s SCORE Foundation announced on Tuesday.
Ball was one of 67 FBS players named to the watch list and one of 14 players representing the Southeastern Conference to be selected.
The award, presented by Albertsons and Tom Thumb, is the first college football honor to focus primarily on a player’s leadership, both on and off the field. Leadership is a term synonymous with Jason Witten, who, in addition to becoming one of the best tight ends in the history of the sport, served as one of football’s most prominent role models during his 16-year pro career. In addition to winning the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award in 2012, Witten also received the Bart Starr Award, Pro Football Weekly’s Humanitarian of the Year Award, Home Depot NFL Neighborhood MVP and the Bob Lilly Award, among many others. All of those honors have recognized his work in the community, achievements on the field and dedication to his teammates and family.
It marks the second consecutive year Ball has appeared on the watch list. Ball has been involved in over 100 community service events during his time on The Hill, in addition to hosting a football camp in his hometown, giving back to youth in the Atlanta metro area.
Ball is one of the most experienced players on the Razorbacks’ roster, with 44 games played and 25 starts during his collegiate career. This season, the redshirt senior has tallied 10 tackles, including 1.5 for loss. He started all 13 games as a redshirt junior in 2024 while registering a career-high 47 tackles, including four for loss and 1.5 sacks. The Atlanta product also tallied two quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery. He registered five tackles and a quarterback hurry during the Hogs’ Liberty Bowl win over Texas Tech (Dec. 27) and a career-high seven tackles, including one for loss in the regular-season finale at Missouri (Nov. 30).
Twenty semifinalists will be selected by a subset of the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Selection Committee and announced on Tues., October 14. Three finalists will then be named for the award on Monday, December 15. The winner will be announced at the award ceremony at The Star in Frisco, Texas, on April 16, 2026.
Arkansas enters a bye week before returning to action on Oct. 11 at 3:15 p.m. when the Razorbacks travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to face the Tennessee Volunteers. The 21st meeting between the Hogs and Vols will be televised on SEC Network.
