Ellis and Hargreaves Take Stage On Thursday
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – “On the Air with Bret Bielema,” Coach Bielema’s weekly radio show presented by Lindsey and Westrock Coffee, returns Thursday night starting at 7 p.m. at the Catfish Hole in Fayetteville. This week’s show will feature senior linebacker Brooks Ellis and his position coach Vernon Hargreaves as the Razorbacks prepare to play Texas State on Saturday at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
Chuck Barrett, the voice of the Razorbacks, will host head coach Bret Bielema while fans can make reservations to attend the show by calling the Catfish Hole at 479-521-7008. Tickets are $25 and include all you can eat dinner buffet with catfish, shrimp and chicken.
Ellis has been an integral part to Arkansas’ 2-0 start this season, highlighted by his 47-yard interception return for a touchdown last Saturday during a win at No. 15 TCU. The touchdown return was the first of his career and he added a team-leading 13 tackles, good for his seventh career game with double-digit stops. Named to the 2016 Butkus Award watch list during the preseason, Ellis ranks third in the SEC with 19 tackles over the first two games.
Led by Hargreaves, the linebacker position has been one of the strongest positions for the Razorbacks early in the season. The duo of Ellis and sophomore Dre Greenlaw are the only linebacker combo in the SEC to each have an interception this season. Over the last 15 games with Hargreaves leading the position room, Ellis or Greenlaw has led the Razorbacks in tackles in 11 of those contests.
