Green Named to SEC Community Service Team
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.– Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green has been named to the 2024 Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the league announced Thursday.
In his first year at Arkansas, Green has been a big part of the Arkansas community statewide. He has spent time in numerous local elementary schools, volunteered at a local food pantry, was part of a team-wide project to provide tornado relief in Northwest Arkansas and spent time with kids at Big Brother, Big Sister events.
The Lewisville, Texas, product has completed 219 of 360 passing attempts for a career-high 2,813 yards and 13 touchdowns this season while rushing for 521 yards and seven touchdowns on 141 carries. He ranks fourth among SEC quarterbacks in passing and rushing yards this season.
Green has put up impressive numbers during his first year as a Razorback, ranking in the Arkansas single-season Top 10 in passing attempts (7th, 360), passing completions (7th, 219), passing yards (7th, 2,813), total offensive plays (1st, 501) and total offense (7th, 3,334 yards). On the ground, he became the first Razorback quarterback to register three multi-rushing touchdown games since at least 1978.
The SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 22-league sponsored sports, looking to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his community through superior service efforts.
