Hogs to Face Golden Hurricane in Tulsa

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The Arkansas women’s tennis team will open its five-match road-stretch Saturday afternoon, facing Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The Hogs are coming off a 1-1 weekend, defeating No. 9 Oklahoma State last Friday and falling to Oklahoma Sunday. The 4-3 thriller against the Cowgirls came down to the wire, as Jackie Carr clinched the match 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-4.

Sophomore Tatum Rice earned a straight-set victory over then-No. 21 Katarina Stresnakova, entering the latest ITA Rankings at No. 78. Rice leads the team with a 6-1 singles record this season, while Martina Zerulo and Laura Rijkers are second with five wins each.

In doubles play, Rice and Zerulo are 3-1 to lead the team while pair Lauren Alter and Rijkers are 2-1. The Razorbacks are 10-5 overall in doubles matches.

The Golden Hurricane is 6-4 entering the weekend, falling 6-1 to Oklahoma State last month. Saturday’s match will be the 34th meeting between the teams, with Arkansas holding a large 27-6 series advantage.

First serve in Tulsa, Okla. is set for 12 p.m.
