Hogs finish first morning of two-a-days

FAYETTEVILLE – It was an early morning for the Arkansas football team as it suited up for the first of two practices on Saturday at 9 a.m.

The day began with sprint drills on the turf fields before the squad broke out into position groups to work on fundamentals. Some of those drills included the running backs working on quickness drill by moving around cones while others included the defensive backs picking up the ball while moving.

Following the drills, the team moved on to kickoffs and coverage with several Razorbacks taking the kicks and a small group of players returning. The kickoff drills were a full squad affair and allowed the Arkansas coaches to see what they have as practices continue.

At the end of the kickoff drills, the Razorbacks went back to working on their skeleton drills with a quarterback, five receivers and seven defenders.

Some full squad plays concluded the two-hour affair. The Razorbacks return to the field at 4 p.m. for their second practice of the day which is scheduled to run 90 minutes.
