Inspiring And Empowering Student-Athletes

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — More than 50 Razorback student-athletes gathered Monday at the Jerry & Gene Jones Family Student Athlete Success Center for the first meeting of the Stand Strong, Stand Together (S3T) group.

S3T is a group for female Razorback student-athletes organized by the female staff of the Office of Student-Athlete Success (OSAS). The group was based on the OSAS mission statement: To inspire and empower Razorback student-athletes, specifically female student-athletes, to grow as individuals. S3T creates an environment where student-athletes can create authentic relationships that promote empowerment, self-esteem, and unity.

Monday’s activities focused on self-reflection. Together with more than 11 OSAS staff members, student-athletes used the information gathered from exercises to prompt dream building exercises and individual goal statements.

S3T also gives female student-athletes additional opportunities to bond with other female student-athletes outside of their respective sport.

The next S3T meeting of the semester will be Monday, April 18.
