The Razorbacks’ offensive line has flourished under Kennedy’s guidance this year. Arkansas has rushed for 2,345 yards this season, its most since gaining 2,565 yards on the ground in 2015, behind the unit’s blocking.
Arkansas’ rushing attack ranks second in the SEC and sixth nationally, averaging 233.5 yards per game.
Kennedy, who is in his first season as the Hogs’ offensive line coach, was originally hired to coach the Razorbacks’ tight ends following a brief stint at Southern Miss during the 2020 offseason as the team’s run game coordinator and offensive line coach.
He had joined Southern Miss after spending the 2019 and 2020 seasons as Tulane’s offensive line coach, helping the Green Wave establish one of nation’s premier rushing offenses.
A 43-member selection committee of distinguished former head coaches, broadcasters, and a committee representing the Football Writers Association of America will select 15 semifinalists and five finalists from the list of nominees and an overall winner.
