Lady Razorback TV receives Award of Excellence

FAYETTEVILLE — Lady Razorback TV has received a Communicator Award for outstanding video production, associate athletic director Bill Smith announced today.

The 13th annual Communicator Awards honored Lady Razorback TV with an Award of Excellence.

Lady Razorback TV was one of only five university or college organizations to be selected in the 2006 competition for the Award of Excellence, and one of only two athletic programs to be honored. Florida State University also received Communicator Awards.

Blair Cartwright, director of new media for UA Women’s Athletics, is the producer and host for Lady Razorback TV.

"We are excited to receive this award for all the Lady Razorback coaches and athletes that take part in the series,but I am especially happy to see the hard work put in by Blair recognized by his peers," Smith said.

The leading international awards program dedicated to recognizing creative excellence in the communications field, entries are judged against standards set by previous entries as well as the current field. The Award of Excellence and Awards of Distinction are presented each year. The Award of Excellence is given to entries which are chosen as best in the field.

Episode nine of last season’s Lady Razorback TV series was the Women’s Communications’ Offices’ entry in the competition.

This marks the second time for Cartwright’s production of Women’s Athletics shows to receive awards. Previously his work with The Gary Blair Show was honored as top sports show in the state of Arkansas.
