Lady'Back soccer to play Baylor in exhibition

FAYETTEVILLE – Just one week after arriving on campus, the University of Arkansas Lady Razorback soccer team is already on the road as they prepare to face the Baylor Bears in Waco, Texas, for an exhibition match on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.

Hoping to get a glimpse of what his team needs to do to prepare for the season, Arkansas head coach Gordon Henderson is excited to see where his team stacks up against a quality opponent.

“We have had a great preseason so far and I am really looking forward to tomorrow’s game,” Henderson said. “Baylor is a good team in a tough conference and will be a great challenge for us.”

The Lady Razorbacks enter the contest hoping to shred the 7-10-2 record of a year ago and while Wednesday’s match won’t effect their overall standings, it ushers in the Henderson era of Lady Razorback soccer and his team approach. Throughout the first week of practice, Henderson continuously worked on team building as he prepares the squad both mentally and physically for the rigors of a long season.

Upon the team’s arrival in Waco, the squad immediately made its way to the practice field where they worked on their touch with the ball and several set plays before ending the session with shooting drills.
