OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Arkansas volleyball team suffered a three-game Southeastern Conference loss at Ole Miss Sunday.

Arkansas dropped the match 23-30, 28-30, 27-30 falling to 10-12 overall and 4-8 in the SEC.

“Our offense is terrible right now,” said a disappointed Arkansas head coach Chris Poole. “We just can’t get anything going right now. We had our chances in games two and three and couldn’t put them away.”

Arkansas had a sub-par hitting performance finishing with a .119 team hitting efficiency. Freshman Heather Royal was the only Lady Razorback in double figures. Royal had a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs for the second consecutive match.

The Lady Razorbacks out-blocked Ole Miss 11-6 but the Lady Rebels’ .169 hitting percentage was just enough to down Arkansas.

Arkansas trailed big in each of the games but made a remarkable comeback in the second frame. Down seven, 22-15, Arkansas scratched its way back to a 27-all tie eventually taking the 28-27 lead. Ole Miss took a timeout and an Arkansas hitting error swung the momentum back to the Lady Rebels who hung on for the 30-28 win.

The third game was much closer for the entire frame before Ole Miss opened the three-point, 27-24 lead late. Arkansas never surrendered battling back to a 27-all tie but again an unforced error handed the opponent an easy point and the win.
