Lady'Backs Host Oklahoma City Thursday

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas softball team hosts Oklahoma City, Thursday, March 16 at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was originally scheduled for a doubleheader but due to travel conflicts only a single game will be played.

The Lady Razorbacks (12-10, 1-2) are taking a break from Southeastern Conference action when they play the Stars for the 18th time in school history. Arkansas leads the all-time series 11-6-1. Last season, the Lady’Backs split a doubleheader with OCU in Fayetteville. Arkansas won game two, 7-7, after falling, 1-0.

Arkansas softball head coach Jamie Pinkerton he is glad to play at home after the SEC opener in Athens, Georgia. Currently, the Lady’Backs are 10-1 at Lady’Back Yard.

“We’re excited to be at home,” he said. “It will be a good game. They are a very good team, who beat No. 10 Oklahoma, March 2. This game should help our kids get better.”

Offensively, junior outfielder Rachel LeMaster leads the team with a .311 batting average and senior Blaire Perry has a team-high 20 hits. Senior catcher Shana Easley has also been a force at the plate this season with 19 hits and 11 RBIs. In the circle, Perry paces the squad with a 1.35 ERA while sophomore Katy Henry has contributed 74 strikeouts.
