Lady'Backs Host Oklahoma Monday

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas softball team begins the final week of the regular season when the Lady Razorbacks (26-29) host a doubleheader with Oklahoma, Monday, May 1, 4:00 p.m.

Arkansas softball head coach Jamie Pinkerton said he hopes the Lady’Backs continue their winning ways after recording their first series win over No. 11 LSU, April 25-26.

“I would like to take the momentum from LSU into the week,” he said. “Traditionally, OU is one of the best teams in the country. I know coach (Patty) Gasso is going to bring a well coached team into Fayetteville.”

Pinkerton said he wants the Lady’Backs to maintain the level of play that has led to nine wins in the last 13 games.

“Hopefully, we can keep improving and get better,” he said. “We’re playing really well right now and we’re playing well against quality opponents.”

Senior Blaire Perry leads the Lady’Back offense with 47 hits and a .299 batting average while senior Mindy O’Malley follows with 46 hits. Sophomore Dayna Huckabee directs the squad with 24 RBIs. In the circle, sophomore Katy Henry has a 2.02 ERA and 202 strikeouts this season.
