Liddell, Richardson Next Up On Tuesday Radio Show
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – “On the Air with Bret Bielema,” Coach Bielema’s weekly radio show presented by Lindsey and West Rock Coffee Company, returns with a special Tuesday night edition at 7 p.m. ahead of Thursday’s season opener at War Memorial Stadium. Arkansas natives Josh Liddell and Kevin Richardson will represent the defensive backs as Tuesday’s guests as they help preview the Razorbacks’ upcoming game against Florida A&M.
Live from the Catfish Hole for the ninth straight year, Chuck Barrett, the voice of the Razorbacks, will host head coach Bret Bielema on the one-hour show while fans can make reservations to attend the shows by calling the Catfish Hole at 479-521-7008. Tickets are $25 and include all you can eat dinner buffet with catfish, shrimp and chicken.
A native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Liddell carries a streak of 20 consecutive starts into his senior season and 25 total for his career. Following his junior season, Pro Football Focus graded Liddell has the No. 1 playmaker among returning safeties in the SEC. Liddell earned that recognition after finishing second on the team with 63 tackles as a junior while tying for the club lead with two interceptions. Out of his four career INTs, three have come in SEC play while the other came at War Memorial Stadium last year against Alcorn State.
Despite missing all but the first half in the season opener last year, Richardson was voted a defensive captain by his teammates in the spring. A former walk-on who earned a scholarship prior to his sophomore season in 2015, he possesses the ability to play several positions in the defensive backfield. In his last full season as a sophomore, Richardson registered 44 tackles, highlighted by double-digit stops against Ole Miss and Mississippi State. He also notched his only career interception against Mississippi State in 2015.
Arkansas will be part of the first Thursday night of the 2017 college football season when it hosts Florida A&M. It marks the first time since 2001 that Arkansas will open the season on a Thursday night. The Razorbacks defeated UNLV in the 2001 season opener. It will also be the program’s first Thursday night game since 2003 when Arkansas took down South Carolina, 28-6. Both of those games were played at War Memorial Stadium.
The show will be carried throughout the state of Arkansas on the Razorback Sports Network and locally in Fayetteville on 99.5 FM, 92.1 FM and 93.3 FM.
