Lingmerth’s Historic Run Ends Sunday

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil –Former University of Arkansas All-American David Lingmerth posted a final round even par 71 finishing tied for 11th overall as the historic reintroduction of men’s golf to the Olympic Games comes to a close on Sunday.

Playing for his native Sweden, Lingmerth moved all over the leaderboard during the four-round tournament finishing with scores of 69–79–68–71—278 on the par 71 Olympic Golf Course.

The front nine challenged the Razorback All-American but he turned even with two bogeys, a birdie and an eagle. He birdied No. 10 but gave the stroke back with a bogey on No.12 before finishing with six consecutive par holes.
