Luke Hasz Tabbed to Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award Watch List

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas tight end Luke Hasz was one of 37 players named to the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award watch list, the Maxwell Football Club announced Wednesday.

The Shaun Alexander Freshman Player of the Year Award is an honor given each year to the most outstanding freshman player in college football. Named after Shaun Alexander since 2018, this award recognizes the exceptional performance and impact made by these players on their respective teams throughout the season. The winning formula evaluates players based on Talent, Character, Ambassador and Legend.

Hasz is the only tight end on the watch list. The Bixby, Okla., native enrolled early at Arkansas to go through spring practice. Hasz is listed as Arkansas’ starting tight end on the depth chart ahead of Saturday’s season opener vs. Western Carolina.

A consensus four-star prospect out of Bixby High School, Hasz is coming off a stellar senior season where he tallied 35 receptions for 597 yards (17.1 ypc) and nine touchdowns.

Hasz and the Razorbacks kick off the season at noon Saturday, Sept. 2, against FCS foe Western Carolina at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Ark. The game will be available on SEC Network+/ESPN+. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by clicking here or by calling the Razorback Ticket Center at (479) 575-5151.
