New field rush policy in place for 2025 season

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – In order to comply with the Southeastern Conference field rushing policy, Arkansas Athletics is implementing a new policy in 2025.

Following a momentous win, three minutes will be placed on the videoboards inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium to delay the field rush and allow the visiting team, staff and officials to exit the field. At the conclusion of the three minutes, fans will be allowed down to the field to celebrate with the Razorbacks.

The SEC’s updated field rushing policy now includes a $500,000 fine for every incident across all sports. The fine money is awarded to the visiting institution during conference games and goes to the league office for incidents during non-conference events.

“The safety of our student-athletes and the student-athletes from the visiting institution is extremely important to all of us,” Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek said. “By implementing this new policy we are allowing the visiting team to clear the field so our fans can safely join our team on the field to celebrate the big win. We look forward to our fans and students complying with this policy the first time we get to implement it so we can all enjoy a huge win.”

The Razorbacks open Head Coach Sam Pittman’s sixth season at the helm on August 30 against Alabama A&M at 3:15 p.m. on SEC Network. The Hogs return to Razorback Stadium for the first-ever matchup with Notre Dame on September 27 at 11 a.m. on ABC. A three-game home stretch starts against Texas A&M on October 18 when the Aggies visit Fayetteville for the first time since 2013. The following week welcomes Auburn (October 25) before Mississippi State comes to town for homecoming on November 1. Arkansas wraps up the regular season at home against Missouri (November 29) in the Battle Line Rivalry.
