No. 4 Razorbacks qualify 10 entries into NCAA Indoor

FAYETTEVILLE – No. 4 Arkansas has qualified 10 entries into the NCAA Indoor Championships they will host on March 13-14 at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

Heading into the national championship meet following conference meets held this past weekend, Illinois is ranked No. 1 and the top 10 includes Georgia, BYU, Arkansas, South Carolina, Texas Tech, USC, Oregon, Alabama, and Kansas State.

Among that group conference team titles were claimed by Texas Tech (Big 12) and Oregon (Big 10) while runner-up teams included Illinois (Big 10), BYU (Big 12), and Arkansas (SEC). Third-place squads included Georgia (SEC) and USC (Big 10).

The Razorbacks entry total ranks equal third with Florida. Illinois leads with 14 entries, all of which are in six field events, while Georgia follows with 11 and South Carolina has nine entries. Programs with eight entries include BYU, Nebraska, Oregon, and USC.

Arkansas’ 10 entries cover seven events while Florida entries cover a leading nine events. South Carolina follows with eight events and Georgia matches the Razorbacks with seven.

Only three schools – Arkansas, Florida, and South Carolina – qualified both relays. This is the sixth time in the past seven years for the Razorbacks to advance both the 4 x 400m and distance medley relays.

NCAA Indoor events for Arkansas include a pair of entries in the 400m, 800m, and high jump along with solo entries in the 5,000m and long jump.
