No. 19 Lady'Backs travel to Lubbock this weekend

FAYETTEVILLE — The 19th-ranked University of Arkansas golf team returns to the links this weekend for the Jeannine McHaney Invitational hosted by Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, Friday, Sept. 24, through Sunday, Sept. 26. Arkansas is coming off a solid fifth-place showing at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational led by a fourth-place finish from redshirt freshman Stacy Lewis. This week, the Lady’Backs shuffle the lineup sending Lewis along with juniors Amanda McCurdy and Courtney Mahon. Making their first appearances of the year is senior Lina Axelsson and junior Sarah Trew. Junior Lindsey Hinshaw is competing as an individual. "I hope we can go into the event with some confidence from our strong play in New Mexico," said head coach Kelley Hester. "I’m also pleased to get a sneak preview of the central regional golf course. I believe it is a strong central region field but one in which we can be very successful if we play the way we are capable. We have a solid lineup and I’m excited to get underway." The Lady’Backs face a tough field including top-ranked Missouri this weekend. Arkansas also takes on No. 15 Oklahoma, No. 16 Iowa State, No. 26 Baylor, No. 30 Notre Dame, No. 35 Kansas State, No. 37 Texas Christian, No. 42 New Mexico State, No. 57 Texas Tech, No. 58 Kansas, No. 69 Xavier, No. 73 Arkansas State, Sam Houston State, Oral Roberts, Tulsa and Nebraska.
