Pielemeier, Rogers lead Razorbacks in Mizzou Opener
COLUMBIA, Missouri – Arkansas sophomores Olivia Pielemeier and Mackenzie Rogers led the Razorbacks in the Mizzou Opener, placing third and fourth over the 5,000m Gans Creek course on Friday morning.
As a team Arkansas placed second to host Missouri, 28-36, while Saint Louis finished third with 67 points. The Razorbacks didn’t race three of their top runners.
Missouri claimed the top two positions with Rahel Broemmel winning the race in 17:34.8 as Nicole Louw placed second in 17:47.2.
Pielemeier covered the course in 17:49.8 while Rogers produced a time of 17:50.7. Ruby Little, a freshman, was the next Razorback finisher as she placed seventh in 18:05.1.
The fourth and fifth runners for Arkansas included Tiana LoStracco and Morgan Kirkland, as they placed 12th and 13th with times of 18:27.8 and 18:30.9. Zoe Marsh placed 14th in 18:31.4 as the sixth Razorback in the race.
Additional Arkansas runners in the race included Audrey Hill, 19th (18:51.8), Chachi Gonzales, 21st (19:10.6), and Madeleine Gear, 23rd (19:14.3).
The No. 13 Razorbacks race next in the Chile Pepper Festival at Agri Park in Fayetteville on Saturday, September 28.
