#ProHogs In The NFL – Week 8 Schedule
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – It’s already time for another week of National Football League (NFL) action as we hit the halfway point of the season. Week 8 begins tonight in Minnesota as the Vikings host Jeremy Sprinkle and the Washington Redskins. The Redskins are going for their second win of the year, while the Vikings are one game back of NFC North Division-leader Green Bay. Kickoff tonight is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. on FOX, NFL Network and Amazon Prime.
Sprinkle Holding Down Tight End Position
Former Hog tight end Jeremy Sprinkle has been the Redskins’ primary tight end this year, making six starts in seven games. However, the production numbers haven’t quite caught up to his large amount of playing time. Sprinkle has just 11 catches for 107 yards with no touchdowns. However, he has at least one catch in every game this year and is one of six Redskins with 10 or more catches.
Flowers Continues to Hold Court On Defense
Defensive end Trey Flowers has continued to prove why he was a good free agent acquisition during the offseason for the Detroit Lions. Last week against the Minnesota Vikings, Flowers played less than half of the defensive snaps, but still put up four tackles, including two solo stops, in his sixth start of the year. Unfortunately, the Lions only have two wins on the year as the defense as a whole is in the bottom third of the league, giving up nearly 140 yards per game rushing and 290 yards passing. Individually, Flowers is tied for the third-most tackles on the team and is one of seven Lions’ players with at least a half sac.
Detroit takes on the NY Giants on Sunday at Noon on FOX.
