#ProHogs In The NFL – Week 9 Schedule
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The second half of the NFL season gets underway tonight as the undefeated San Francisco 49ers take on the Arizona Cardinals inside University of Phoenix Stadium. It’ll be a big night for the 49ers as they look to remain as one of two undefeated teams (New England) in the league and it’ll be the first of many important games for a group of #ProHogs, including former Hog quarterback Brandon Allen.
Allen To Make NFL Debut With Denver
It’s been four years since quarterback Brandon Allen played his last game in a Razorback uniform and was drafted in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Since then, he’s been a part of three NFL teams (Jacksonville, Los Angeles Rams, Denver), but never played in a regular-season game. This week, with the Broncos, he finally gets his chance. With an injury sidelining Joe Flacco and another injury keeping Drew Lock out since the preseason, Allen will take the field as the starting Bronco quarterback for the foreseeable future. Allen played in all four preseason games this year, but with the Rams before being released. He was signed by Denver before Week 1, but had not seen any official playing time. Kickoff between the Broncos and Browns is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. on CBS.
Greenlaw, 49ers Try To Stay Undefeated
Earning his professional stripes in his rookie season with San Francisco, linebacker Dre Greenlaw has been a major part of a major turnaround in San Francisco. The 49ers only won four games a year ago, but have easily surpassed that in 2019 as they are 7-0 heading into Thursday night’s matchup with Arizona. Much of the success has come from their defense as they are holding opponents to an average of 11 points per game and 224 yards per game, which are both best in the NFL. Greenlaw has started a number of games for San Francisco this year, including in Week 1. Last week, he tallied three tackles after seeing time on defense and special teams against Carolina. He’s also one of the speediest players on the team.
