Razorback Athletics Partners With Game Plan In Career Readiness Initiatives

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — As part of its continuing commitment to its mission of Building Champions and Razorbacks for Life, Razorback Athletics has announced a partnership with Game Plan to build a career development website to provide expanded support for more than 465 University of Arkansas student-athletes.

The website will serve as an extension of the services already provided by Razorback Athletics’ Office of Student-Athlete Development and help link student-athletes to valuable resources to assist them in preparing for life after graduation.

“At the core of what we do, is preparing our student-athletes for success both during their collegiate careers and beyond,” Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek said. “By working in conjunction with Game Plan, we are able to expand the reach of our professional development programs, while allowing our student-athletes to learn about various career opportunities and connect with potential employers. That is a valuable combination that works for the benefit of our student-athletes both today and for the future.”

Through this partnership, the student-athletes will be able to use the website to network with professionals in their chosen field of study, learn about jobs and internships offered by companies on the site and view e-learning courses on a variety of topics developed to ensure the student-athlete’s transition to life after college is as seamless as possible. E-learning courses will be broken down to a year-by-year curriculum fitting each phase of their journey as a collegiate student-athlete. These topics will include anything from helping with the transition to college and resume writing / interview skills to sexual violence prevention and financial literacy.

“The staff at the University of Arkansas are truly dialed in on the success of their student-athletes and continue to prove their ability to think outside the box in how to ensure their success.” Game Plan CEO Vin McCaffrey said. “We are excited to work with Arkansas in their Razorback Career Ready initiative and look forward to a long partnership.”
