Razorback Sports Network plans

A 50-plus network of stations blanketing the state of Arkansas, new programming featuring head football coach Bobby Petrino and head men’s basketball coach John Pelphrey, and an expanded pregame show prior to every Razorback football contest – it’s all included in the “Razorback Sports Network from ISP Sports” announced Monday by the University of Arkansas Department of Athletics and Razorback Sports Properties. “We are excited that the creation of Razorback Sports Properties has resulted in the expansion of the coverage area of our radio broadcasts,” said UA Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long. “The ability to deliver the Razorbacks to fans around the state and the region utilizing an expanded radio network and additional programming provides a tremendous opportunity for our fans to follow the Razorbacks. We will continue to work to grow our network for our other sports as well.” The 2009-10 list of network affiliates includes 11 new members and will completely cover the state throughout the football and basketball campaigns. Network coverage will extend into seven surrounding states as well. All Arkansas-based stations will carry every football (and basketball) game broadcast, along with the new “BobbyPetrino Live” radio show. Bobby Petrino Live will be broadcast live from The Catfish Hole in Fayetteville and will be presented by The Lindsey Company. The show will air live on Wednesdays during the football season from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. The inaugural edition of that 60-minute production airs Aug. 26. Razorback basketball head coach John Pelphrey will have a similar program that will be featured on the entire in-state network during basketball season. The final new programming component this fall is a three-hour pregame show before every Arkansas football game, beginning with the 2009 opener on Sept. 5 against Missouri State. Previously, the pregame show began 90 minutes prior to kickoff “Our radio network is stronger than ever,” said Ryan Gribble, general manager of Razorback Sports Properties. “The new weekly shows, featuring our Head Coaches, promise to be entertaining and informative productions that fans will enjoy over the air and even more in person. Our expanded pregame show before all of our football contests will provide greater exposure to the entire athletic program. Additional stations are expected to join the network prior to the actual start of the 2009 football season.” A complete station list of Razorback Sports Network from ISP affiliates follows:
