@RazorbackMTEN Falls To No. 9 Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The University of Arkansas men’s tennis team was defeated by No. 9 Texas A&M, 4-0, at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on Friday.

With the loss the Razorbacks fell to 11-10 overall, 1-6 in the SEC, while the Aggies improved to 12-3 overall and 7-1 in conference play.

Texas A&M took control early, winning the doubles point without having to play out a third match. On court one, Razorback duo of senior Jovan Parlic and junior Giammarco Micolani fell to No. 32 Jeremy Efferding and Jordan Szabo 6-0. Next, freshman David Herrerias and sophomore Juan Marino were defeated by AJ Catanzariti and Arthur Rinderknech 6-4 in the No. 3 position.

Singles was over quickly as the Aggies claimed the No. 1, 4 and 5 spots in straight sets. Playing in the No. 1 position, No. 81 Micolani was bettered by No. 67 Shane Vinsant 6-0, 6-2. den Toom faced off with Jordi Arconada on court four and fell 6-4, 7-5. In the last completed singles match of the night, Herrerias was defeated by Max Lunkin, 6-4, 6-3.

Arkansas is back on the road to face No. 24 LSU at 1 p.m., CT in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Sunday.
