Razorbacks Host Oral Roberts in Midweek Matchup

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team (4-0) continue play at home this week as they welcome Oral Roberts (1-3) for a midweek matchup. The Razorbacks and the Golden Eagles are set to face off on Wednesday, January 25 at 5 p.m. CT at Billingsley Tennis Center.

Under head coach Jay Udwadia, the Razorbacks have gotten off to a perfect start this spring. In its first four wins, Arkansas has taken four straight doubles points and have outscored its opponents 16-4. Freshman Gerard Planelles Ripoll has been a huge part of that success, boasting a 4-0 singles record and a 2-0 doubles record in his first collegiate matches.

Oral Roberts heads to Fayetteville after a tough 0-7 loss to Oklahoma State last Sunday. The Golden Eagles won the doubles point in their first two matches, including a win over Montana State, but have dropped the last two. Sophomore Igancio Vinas has posted a 2-2 record this dual season at the No. 2 position, leading the team so far. In doubles, Vinas and partner Ezequiel Monferrer have gone 2-2 this spring helping to secure the doubles point in their two wins.
