Razorbacks Move Up to No. 23 in National Polls
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas softball team (7-1) has increased its national ranking to No. 23 in the latest NFCA Coaches and ESPN.com/USA Softball polls released on Tuesday (Feb. 18). The Razorbacks were ranked No. 24 by both organizations last week and increased one position after an undefeated weekend at the FGCU Invitational.
In the Softball America Poll, the Razorbacks are ranked No. 21. Arkansas currently leads the SEC and is third nationally in batting average (.376). Junior catcher Kayla Green earned SEC Player of the Week recognition for the first time in her career last week. She hit .667 (6-for-9), collected five RBIs and commanded a pitching staff which allowed only five runs.
The Hogs host the Razorback Invitational at Bogle Park for their first home competition of the season. Boston University serves as the opposition for the home opener at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20. Visit ArkansasRazorbacks.com for the full Razorback Invitational schedule.
