Razorbacks Open NCAA Action with Aggies Friday

Arkansas begins its first NCAA Tournament journey in nine years on Friday with a round one match-up against the Utah State Aggies in Eugene, Ore.

It’s the first tournament appearance since 2013 for the Hogs, and since 2010 for the Aggies. Both teams recorded 20-win regular seasons and finished fourth in their respective conferences. The Razorbacks enter the tournament as a 6-seed.

Arkansas and Utah State will get going at 6 p.m. CT on Friday. The advancing team will go on to face the winner of No. 3 Oregon and Loyola Marymount, who play at 9 p.m. Friday. Second round action takes place at 9 p.m. on Saturday with a spot in the Sweet 16 on the line.

All matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Scouting the Series: Utah State

  • Utah State and Arkansas have met just five times, three in the last six seasons
  • Last meeting was a five-set nailbiter for the Hogs in 2021, with the third, fourth and fifth sets all decided by just two points. Arkansas came out on top 3-2
  • First NCAA appearance since 2010 for the Aggies, 2013 for the Razorbacks
  • Utah State finished fourth in the Mountain West regular season and went on to win the conference tournament
