Razorbacks Represented In National Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – Oracle and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the 2016 Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Women’s Division I Preseason Rankings on Tuesday.

Arkansas sophomore Ana Oparenovic earned a career-best mark in the singles poll at No. 60. Additionally, the duo of Oparenovic and senior Shannon Hudson claimed the No. 49 spot in the doubles poll.

“The preseason rankings are mostly a testament to the achievements of last season,” head coach Michael Hegarty said. “Both Ana and Shannon were integral to our success and are already showing the way for our entire team this fall.”

A 2016 SEC All-Freshman Team selection, Oparenovic posted a 20-16 overall record last season in singles, including four victories over ranked opponents, and went 20-12 in doubles. Hudson finished her junior campaign with an 18-18 mark in doubles.

The Razorbacks are set to begin their fall slate Sept. 23-25. Multiple Razorbacks will compete at either the Little Rock Classic in Little Rock, Arkansas, or the Colorado Invitational in Boulder, Colorado.
