Razorbacks earn CSCAA scholastic honors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas swimming and diving squad earned team and individual recognition for its academic work during the 2008-09 season, the College Swimming Coaches of America Association has announced. The Razorbacks compiled a team grade-point average of 3.48, the eighth highest in the nation and best in the Southeastern Conference, while Razorbacks Stephanie Carr, Katie Kastes, Leah Pierce, Summer Jackson and Erin Neumann earned individual academic honors.Consistently one of the strongest academic programs at Arkansas and the country, the Razorback swimming and diving team earned a 3.48 GPA along with Clemson, Florida Gulf Coast and Lafayette College. Rice University led the nation with a 3.62 team GPA. In the SEC, South Carolina trailed the Razorbacks with a 3.47 GPA.

As she did in 2008, Carr earned CSCAA Scholar All-American status with Kastes and Pierce each garnering their first CSCAA scholastic nods.

Jackson and Neumann both repeated as CSCAA Scholar All-American honorable mentions.
