@RazorbackSB Tripped Up by Tulsa, 10-2

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Arkansas softball team was defeated by Tulsa, 10-2 in six innings, Tuesday evening at the Collins Family Softball Complex. The Razorbacks (14-21, 0-9 SEC) had six hits on the day but the Golden Hurricane’s (22-12, 4-2 AAC) four-run second inning broke open the game and propelled the home team to victory.

Arkansas returns home for the second-straight weekend, hosting Mississippi State April 4-6. All three games against the Bulldogs will be televised, with April 4 on SECN+ and April 5-6 on SEC Network.

The Razorbacks got on the board right away, scoring a run in the top of the first. Devon Wallace led off the inning reaching on an error followed by a single from Kasey Fagan. Shelby Hiers brought around Wallace on a sacrifice fly to center.

After Tulsa tied the game in the bottom of the first, Arkansas came back to take a 2-1 lead in the second. Loren Krzysko and Haley Meinen led off the inning with back-to-back base hits and with one out, Wallace brought in a run with her RBI single to left.

Tulsa used five hits and a pair of Razorback errors to plate four in the second inning, making it a 5-2 game and taking the lead for good.

Arkansas had base runners on in the third and fourth innings but was not able to bring them home as Tulsa gradually started to pull away. The Golden Hurricane scored two in the fourth to go up by six and then followed with two more in the sixth to end the game.

Three Razorback pitchers saw action in Tuesday’s game. Haley Meinen (1-3) took the loss, hurling 1.1 innings and giving up five runs, two of which were earned.
