Reco Takes Down No. 5 Seed, Advances to Round of 16

TULSA, Okla.- Day two of the main draw singles play at the ITA All-American Championships saw Razorback senior Alex Reco top the No. 5 seed Thursday morning and move on to the final 16. Reco took down Georgia Bulldog Trent Bryde in straight sets, 7-6, 6-0.

Bryde, who plays in the No. 1 position for Georgia, defeated Reco twice last year. He also had a strong summer highlighted by a three-set match with former Virginia Cavalier and ATP No. 83, Brandon Nakashima.

Reco advances to the third round in Tulsa where he’ll face the winner of Nikola Slavic of Ole Miss and J.J. Tracy of Ohio State. The last time an Arkansas Razorback made it to the round of 16 at the ITA All-American Championships was in 2016 when Hogs Mike Redlicki and Jose Salazar both reached the third round.
