

Reeder Leads Razorbacks After Day 1 at Prestige
LA QUINTA, Calif. – Tyson Reeder carded five birdies on the back nine Monday and fired a season-low, 3-under par 68 to stand in a tie for fifth at The Prestige Presented by Charles Schwab at PGA WEST – Greg Norman Course (par 71, 7,100-yards).
Arkansas, ranked 41st, is in 14th with a 9-over-par 293. Top-ranked Pepperdine leads the field, which features 11 of the nation’s top 45 teams, shooting a 9-under 275.
Reeder is two shots off the lead with 36 holes to play over the next two days. He made the turn at 2-over with bogeys on holes seven and nine. He opened the inward nine with three straight birdies while adding birdies on the holes 14 and 16 for his 3-under 68.
William Buhl is tied for 38th with an opening-round 73. He had three bogeys, a birdie and 14 pars, the second-best total in the opening round. Julian Perico, ranked 97th in the nation, is one stroke behind Buhl, posting a 3-over-par 74.
Mason Overstreet holds the fourth spot for the Razorbacks, turning in a 79 to stand in a tie for 70, while William McDonald shot a 79 and is in 73rd.
At the same time, on a course nearby (Coral Mountain Golf Club), there is a tournament just for individuals. Razorback freshman Mauricio Figueroa posted four birdies in round one and is tied for 22nd with a 2-over-par 74. Senior Luis Garza carded 16 pars with three bogeys and is tied for 25th with a 3-over 75.
Round two of three is set for Tuesday.
