Solid Practices Continue for Razorback Football
ORLANDO, Fla. – Arkansas football participated in drills and practice for slightly more then one hour in sunny Orlando Friday morning. The Razorbacks continue focusing on Wisconsin and the physical battle Monday’s game is expected to be.
“There is nothing like beautiful sunshine and there is nothing like a good practice,” head coach Houston Nutt said. “We are getting closer. We had a good day today. (The weather) is perfect. I hope it’s just like this on Monday.”
As game time approaches, this week’s practices will have a strong impact on the personnel decisions Nutt and his staff will be making on the depth chart. The wide receiver position is still in question but Nutt’s decision is getting easier with ample efforts from the offense during practice.
“Robert Johnson and Cedric Washington have had excellent practices,” Nutt said. “They are definitely huge in our game plan.”
Casey Dick and Mitch Mustain are also giving it their all at the quarterback position this week. While Dick is still slated as the starter, Mustain is doing everything he can to make his presence known.
“Both of them have done a great job this week,” Nutt said. “They have had great attitudes. Casey (Dick) has been extremely sharp. I think the competition has been great. Both of them are going to play and we’ll see what happens.”
With many activities planned during bowl week, Nutt has had little trouble keeping the players focused on Wisconsin and on the task at hand.
“We are ready to go”, Nutt said. “We are ready to play. We have had a great week. There are a lot of things to do and this is a great city. The Capital One Bowl staff has been great. (The players) are getting anxious.”
The Razorbacks will spend Friday afternoon at Sea World Orlando and return to the practice fields at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
