Hogs Dominate in Win Against Kansas
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Arkansas Swimming and Diving dominated Kansas on Saturday afternoon, winning 12 events, breaking five pool records and having four personal records broken. Senior Vanessa Herrmann broke two pool records in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke, meanwhile, Senior Kobie Melton also broke the pool record in the 200 Backstroke. The Razorbacks collectively broke the pool record in the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Freestyle relays. In addition, Sophomore Mayson Richards had two personal bests – one in the 1 Meter and one in the 3 Meter.
“A win on the road at a Big 12 opponent is always good, but the way we competed after two weeks of hard training was more impressive,” Head Coach Neil Harper said. “We won 12 of 16 events today and broke five pool records! We were led by our three seniors, Vanessa, Kobie, and Andrea, who were all part of three wins each . It was a total team effort to come away with the team win. Razorbacks that also stood out today were Adéla (one win), Mayson (one win) Bella (three wins), and three freshmen Ella (second and a PB), Rebecca (second place), and Eleonora (two wins).”
“Mayson had another great day today. She’s starting to figure things out and I’m really pleased with her performance today,” said Coach Sanchez.
