Arkansas Gymnastics Invites Season Ticket Holders to Renew for 2021 Season

As we approach the start of the season for second-year head coach, Jordyn Wieber and the Gymbacks, we are writing to update you on the adjustments that will occur in Barnhill Arena this season due to the ongoing pandemic.

The Razorbacks have been busy this fall, with the addition of four new freshmen in the gym: Emma Kelley, Jordan Olszewski, Gillian Rutz and Jensen Scalzo.

Arkansas fans can be excited about the return of redshirt-senior Sarah Shaffer and senior Sophia Carter this season, as well as the addition of Michigan-transfer Maggie O’Hara. Together, the trio brings a wealth of experience and leadership in the gym that is sure to shine during competition in 2021.

Wieber also added Nebraska-transfer Abby Johnston to the 2020-21 roster. The Florida-native is a junior this fall and Wieber expects Johnston will add depth to both the bars and floor lineups at Arkansas as well, just as she did in her two seasons with the Huskers.

On the coaching front, the Gymbacks have a new face in the gym, but one that is familiar to gymnastics fans, as former UCLA Bruin, Felicia Hano was announced as the newest volunteer assistant back in late June.

After working with the Gymbacks as a volunteer assistant in 2019-20, Catelyn Orel was promoted into a full-time assistant coach role in may. “In just one year, Catelyn has already made an incredible impact on our program,” Wieber said. “I have no doubt that her knowledge and creative expertise will continue helping this program excel.”

Capacity + Social Distancing
Unfortunately, capacity will be limited in Barnhill Arena, as is the case with Bud Walton Arena and Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. We are working in concert with the Arkansas Department of Health and the Southeastern Conference to determine what the final capacity will be based on social distancing requirements and guidelines.

Parking
Due to the modified schedule and limited ticket availability, the Razorback Foundation will be unable to accommodate any parking changes for this season. For any other parking questions contact the Razorback Foundation at gohogs@razorbackfoundation.com or 479-443-9000.

Mobile Tickets
As is the case for all Razorback sporting events beginning this season, all tickets will be mobile-only.

We appreciate your patience and your understanding of these modifications to the upcoming season. The health and safety of our fans remains a top priority. We can’t wait to host you inside Barnhill Arena this season!
