Indoors: Earned a bronze medal in heptathlon at SEC Indoor Championships, scoring 5,626 points, which ranks No. 7 on Arkansas all-time list … Part of a four-man Razorback crew in the SEC multi-event, which combined for 20 points of a 2-3-5-7 finish … Won the final event of the conference heptathlon, running 2:37.22 in the 1,000m and had second best mark in pole vault (16-2.75 | 4.95) … Other marks included 7.06 in 60m, 21-9 (6.63) long jump, 42-10.75 (13.07) shot put, 6-0.5 (1.84) high jump, and 8.31 in 60m hurdles … Debut performance for Razorbacks came in Arkansas Invitational as he placed fifth in 60m hurdles (8.32) and pole vault (15-7 | 4.75) … Finished third in pole vault (15-9 | 4.80) at Tyson Invitational and ran 7.10 in 60m … Placed seventh in 60m hurdles (8.28, with 8.27 prelim) at Arkansas Qualifier and 10th in long jump (22-2.25 | 6.76) … Scored 2,715 points during first day of heptathlon at Razorback Invitational from marks of 7.13 (60m), 21-2 (6.45) long jump, 40-9 (12.42) shot put and 5-7.75 (1.72) high jump.

Red-shirt Junior 2019: Earned NCAA Indoor Second-Team All-American Honors…MPSF Indoor Champion in the Heptathlon with a mark of 5553… That mark earned him the 16th spot on the NCAA descending order list and booked Brendel a spot at the NCAA Indoor Championships… Finished 14th at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the heptathlon… MPSF All-Academic Team… Pac-12 All-Academic First Team.
Junior 2018: Did not compete due to injury… Pac-12 All-Academic First Team.
Sophomore 2017: Claimed third in the decathlon at the 2017 Pac-12 Championship with a personal best of 7413 … Finished second at the Mt. SAC Relays with a score of 7347 … Placed second in the Big Meet in both the 110m Hurdles and the 4x100m relay … Recorded a fourth-place finish at the Brutus Hamilton Challenge with a 14.63 second time in the 110m hurdles … Notched a third place finish at the MPSF Indoor Track & Field Championship with a personal best of heptathlon score of 5674.
Freshman 2016: Won the decathlon at the Sacramento State Hornet Invite (7,022) … finished ninth in the event at the Pac-12 Championships (6932) … captured the heptathlon title at the 2016 MPSF Indoor Championships (5158).
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Granite Bay HS…won California state meet in the 300 hurdles after overcoming injury and starting season late.
PERSONAL: Graduated with a degree in business administration… Parents are Jerry and Julie… His brother Trent competed on the Cal track team and graduated from UC Berkeley in December 2017.
