Jean Nail is in her 29th year as spirit group coordinator for the Razorbacks. She coordinates the selection and performance schedule of the Razorback Cheerleaders, Pom Squads, RBI Girls and mascots.
As Director of Spirit Squads and the Razorback Mascots, Nail and her staff Kraig Jimenez (cheer coach) and Brooke Bailey (dance coach) pace their student spirit leaders through daily practices in preparation for the Razorback football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, volleyball, gymnastics and tennis events. The groups also appear at various university functions and many community service events throughout the year. They are active in summer camp seminars and national competitions. Under Nail and her staff the squads have won numerous competitive awards.
Nail is married to Mike Nail who retired in 2010 after 29 years as the play-by-play “Voice of the Basketball Razorbacks”. Nail received her bachelors in 1986 and masters in 1987 in education from the University of Arkansas.
Jean and Mike have two daughters, Michelle (Mrs. Doug) Kehn and Elsa Nail, and are the proud grandparents of John Michael and Aubrey Anne Kehn.
