Thompson And Hazen Join Mike’d Up On Monday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Junior Trey Thompson and freshman Brachen Hazen will join Mike Anderson on the fifth Mike’d Up of the season, the weekly radio show dedicated to Arkansas basketball at Sassy’s Red House in Fayetteville on Monday at 7 p.m.

The one-hour program gives fans an opportunity to interact with Razorback coaches and players, while also getting a chance to learn more about the personalities they witness on the court. Hosted by the voice of the Razorbacks, Chuck Barrett, the program features interviews with Coach Anderson and Arkansas student-athletes, coaches and staff members. Fans in attendance will also have an opportunity to ask the head Razorback their own questions. Fans can also send in questions to Coach Anderson on the day of each show via Twitter to @RazorbackMBB and by using the hashtag #MikedUp.

Thompson continues to play big minutes off the bench for Arkansas, appearing in all nine games and averaging 11.8 minutes per contest. He scored a season-high six points against North Florida Saturday evening, including an alley-oop dunk on a pass from Anton Beard. Thompson is averaging 2.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game and has six blocks and five steals on the year.

Hazen joined Arkansas as a late signee in the spring after playing his prep career at Columbia City High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was ranked as the No. 7 player in the state of Indiana and the No. 50 small forward in the 2016 class by 247Sports. Hazen has appeared in six games this season and recorded his first collegiate points on Dec. 3 against Austin Peay, tipping home his first basket as a Razorback.

Arkansas is in the midst of final exams and will practice all week before traveling to Houston, Texas, to renew an old rivalry with the Texas Longhorns on Saturday, Dec. 17. Tip-off is slated for 1:30 p.m. on ESPNU.
