Baseball series opener changed to 4 p.m.

FAYETTEVILLE – The Arkansas-Auburn baseball game scheduled for Friday, March 20, in Auburn, Ala., is now set for a 4 p.m. first pitch it was agreed upon by the two clubs on Thursday afternoon.

The No. 15 Razorbacks (13-4, 3-0 SEC) open a three-game set with the Tigers (15-5, 2-1 SEC) at Plainsman Park on the Auburn campus on Friday, but the Tiger men’s basketball team is slated to host Tulsa in a National Invitational Tournament (NIT) second round game beginning at 7 p.m. which precipitated the change.

Junior lefthander Dallas Keuchel is scheduled to pitch for the Razorbacks against Auburn lefty Grant Dayton in what appears to be a showdown of top arms in the Southeastern Conference.Keuchel enters the game with a 2-0 record and 3.24 ERA while Dayton boasts a record of 2-1 and ERA of 2.45.

The Razorbacks enter the weekend with the SEC’s only perfect record and hope to match their all-time best start in SEC play at 4-0 on Friday. The Hogs were winners of four straight games before suffering a tough loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Wednesday evening at Baum Stadium.
