Brown Named to Bowerman Pre-NCAA Outdoor Championships Watch List

NEW ORLEANS, LA – A consensus favorite to capture the NCAA title in the 100-meter hurdles this weekend, Janeek Brown was announced as a member of The Bowerman Pre-NCAA Outdoor Championships Watch List announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Janeek Brown has been on a tear this entire outdoor season, lowering her school record in the 100-meter hurdles from 12.80 to the current standing of 12.55 seconds that is the No. 2 time in the world this season trailing only World Record holder Keni Harrison’s mark of 12.47.

Brown advanced to the NCAA Championships in three events; the 100-meter hurdles, the 200-meters and as a leg on the 4×100-meter relay. Her time in the 100-meter hurdles is a program record as is the relay time set by Arkansas’ sprint relay at the SEC championships at 43.11. The sophomore from Kingston, Jamacia is No. 2 all-time in program history at 200-meters behind multi-time Olympic Champion Veronica Campbell-Brown.

The next Women’s Watch List for The Bowerman will be released June 12.
